So, this is me! This picture was taken by my Dad during Easter 2013. I take a lot of photographs myself, but I never have one with me on it…LOL! I gave my Dad a special assignment: ” Now take a picture of me… You know… For my blog, Dad?

Nice to meet you! My name is Esther and I am a 38 year old art teacher from the Netherlands. My students are between 12 and 18 years old. I teach two and three dimensional art, art history and art appreciation. Some of these classes are in English ( CLIL ). I love my job: teaching others gives me much joy!

In late 2010 / early 2011 I was inspired to take up quilting and I have been dabbling with fabrics since than! Since December 2012 quilting has become more and more important….and has become a full blown addiction!🙂 I started this blog as part of a 2013 New Year’s Resolution, and I am so glad I did! The sheer amount of new friends, the tons of fun and lots of new things to try out…. It is just amazing!!!!

  1. I have been totally frustrated with the fact that Blogger and WP don’t play well together and they are not listening at Blogger!!!! Love your blog and your quilting is gorgeous!!!! Hugs and blessings, Doreen

  2. Hello Esther! You visited me, and I wanted to meet you. Your work is stunning. It is hard to believe that you have been quilting for such a short time. I can’t wait to see more of your great work. I will be following you!

    • Hi Peter,
Yes but I totally agree. We are so lucky to have a larger theatre near us with great shows! We go many times, but the kids have to choose themselves if they want to come or not. They HAVE to go to the theatre at least once, but they can also choose to go to a different venue like in a clubhouse. We do not subsidize those, they have to pay for that themselves. It is totally up to them. We offer a wide variety of shows: from classical music, ballet to breakdance and stand up comedy and musicals. Some shows we visit with large groups, others with very small groups of about 5. I enjoy all the variety!
      Have a wonderful week!
      Esther

  3. Nice to meet you, Esther, and thank you for visiting my blog, linsquilts.blogspot.com. I was frustrated that you show up as a noreply blogger. hmmph.
We had a exchange student from Finland over 20 years ago. Love that girl.
    I’m enjoying your blog.

    • Hi Lin!
Yes I know about the no-reply! This happens when WordPress bloggers respond to Blogger bloggers, ha ha! These two platforms do not work well together and we can not communicate directly! Wish they could change that!
Thank you for taking the time and effort to come and find me!
      Esther
